Privacy Policy
Website privacy notice.
This notice explains how the public Serpentine AI website handles personal data. It does not replace any internal association policy.
Who we are
This website is run by E.S.A.I.V. Serpentine (Serpentine AI), Eindhoven, the Netherlands, registered with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce (KvK) under number 74579096. We are responsible for the personal data described in this notice.
What we collect
When you contact us by email, a contact form, or an external sign-up form linked from this website, we may receive your name, email address, message, affiliation, and any other details you choose to provide. The website may also process basic technical information such as IP address, browser type, pages visited, and timestamps through hosting logs or privacy-respecting analytics if enabled.
Cookies and browser storage
This website does not use tracking or advertising cookies. It stores two preferences in your own browser: your light or dark theme choice, and whether you closed the Linktree notice. These stay on your device and are not sent to us. Fonts are served from this website, not from a third party.
How we use it
We use this information to respond to questions, manage interest in Serpentine AI activities, maintain website security, understand general website usage, and improve our public communication. We do not sell personal data.
Legal basis
We answer contact-form messages based on our legitimate interest in responding to questions about Serpentine AI (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). We process sign-ups for the team interest list and requests for WhatsApp community access based on your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you can withdraw at any time through the contact form. Hosting logs are processed based on our legitimate interest in keeping the website secure (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Retention
We keep contact messages and sign-up information only as long as needed for the purpose for which it was provided, unless a longer retention period is required for organizational, legal, or security reasons. Hosting or analytics logs are kept for a limited period according to the relevant provider settings.
External services
Contact-form submissions are processed by Formspree and delivered to us by email. Some links may also lead to external services, such as Google Forms, LinkedIn, GitHub, Instagram, or collaborator websites. Those services have their own privacy practices.
Your rights
If GDPR applies to you, you may have the right to request access to your personal data, correction, deletion, restriction of processing, portability, or objection to certain processing. You may also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection authority.
Contact
For privacy questions or requests, use the contact form on the homepage and select Privacy or data request. We may ask for information needed to verify and handle your request.
